Coan

August 2013 - August 2025

  • Coan was an incredible dog who has changed our lives forever. He was so vibrant, playful, intelligent, and loving. He loved swimming, going for walks, chasing squirrels in the yard, laying out in the sun, snuggling on the couch, and hanging out with his human and canine friends (plus his cat brother, Bear). Peanut butter was a must-have in our household, along with durable chew toys and plenty of fuzzy blankets.

    We didn’t have much time left together after his cancer diagnosis, but we cherished every moment. This has been a significant loss for our family as we mourn the center of our world. We hope that by creating this memorial, Coan’s legacy will live on by helping shelter animals in need.

    The APCSM holds a special place in my heart. I used to visit the shelter as a child and our family adopted our first dog here in 2004. In 2016, I began volunteering and soon after became part of the staff. It’s a privilege to be able to work alongside these deserving animals and caring community.
